On Sunday the 13th of February, we will be opening our doors to "Wires, Strings & Other Things" a musical extravaganza for children aged 6+ and their parents. This show explores the many ways that music comes together for 3 characters. Today we meet James the owner of a very special Bass Clarinet that will stop you in your tracks with its deep intense sound.
Q: James, how would you describe the sound of your musical instrument: the bass clarinet?
A: Chocolatey, resonant and woody.
Q: If your instrument was an animal, what would it be?
A: A panther, it’s got a solidity and weight to it but it’s also graceful.
Q: What age were you when you started playing your instrument?
A: I was 8 years old when I started playing the clarinet.
Q: What do you like most about the bass clarinet?
A: I love the sound it makes.
Q: What’s the thing you find most annoying about your instrument?
A: It’s so big!
Make sure to book tickets for our next show on Sunday 13th at 3pm to see how James and his 2 companions come together to create music.
