Willie Headon is one of the members of Muddy River Band, an irish seven-piece that pays homage to the timeless music of three legendary icons: Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Tom Petty.

Q- Tell us about yourself
A- I'm Willie from the Muddy River Band. I've been a professional songwriter /musician /recording engineer for over 30 years. I perform the songs of Neil Young with the Muddy River Band.
Q- What will you play in Birr?
A- The band will play a selection of classics from our musical heroes, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty ... it'll be MEGA!
Q- Who is your biggest influence?
A- Musically, definitely Neil Young. Life in general, Homer Simpson!
Q- Describe yourself as a 10-year-old.
A- A plucky little mischief maker ... I'd chance anything!
Q- What’s your best on stage memory?
A- I can't remember! Seriously ...
I've shared the stage with lots of Ireland's top performers and they're all great memories
Q- What’s your worst on stage memory?
A- Honestly, I've had no really bad experiences. The worst thing that has happened is my guitar amp blew up but that was a one off ... I hope it stays that way!
Q- Where are you at your happiest?
A- I'm supposed to say on stage ... but no ... when I'm walking in the countryside
Q- What’s your favourite colour?
A- Blue.
Q- What’s the last book you enjoyed?
A- The Beano.
Q- What's the last Play or Film that you enjoyed?
A- Rolling Thunder Review (Documentary on Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder tour).

A- Impossible to answer really ... maybe "Birds" by Neil Young.
