Birr Festivals Collective is an innovative partnership of 5 community-led Birr festivals.  We are:

  • Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival - a regional tourism highlight blending heritage and contemporary arts: parades, exhibitions, live music, theatre and family-friendly fun;

  • Hullabaloo! Offaly’s Children’s Arts Festival stimulates curiosity, originality and confidence through workshops and magical experiences for families on Oct mid-term break across Birr, Clara, Edenderry and Tullamore;

  • OFFline Film Festival - the Midlands' leading film festival, showcasing Irish and international cinema through screenings, workshops and industry events;

  • Scripts: Ireland’s Playwriting Festival is dedicated to showcasing the finest new plays from emerging and established playwrights, offering audiences fresh, inclusive theatre;

  • Birr Festival of Music and Voice presents emerging and renowned national and international classical musicians in historic and surprising venues;

In October 2020, Birr Festivals Collective launched the Birr Festivals Development Strategy which recommended 6 development goals:

​

  1. The continuation of the Festival Steering Group (now known as Birr Festivals Collective)

  2. Engagement of professional services to provide shared executive supports to the Birr festivals

  3. To procure equipment to support the live streaming of events

  4. Development of a strategy for audience development and engagement

  5. Position Birr and it's Festivals prominently in national strategies and campaigns

  6. Explore potential for developing an action research project with OCC for submission to the Arts Council's Invitation to Collaboration Scheme
