How do we get rid of Covid (and bad odors...)?

Here, at Birr Theatre & Art Centre we focus on one thing and one thing only:

We want our patrons to have a good time in a safe environment.

Ordinarily that would mean ensuring that the theatre is warm and welcoming, that the refreshments are chilled and that the full team has a smile on their faces when you come in.

Nowadays, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, it also means following the government guidelines in order to operate at full capacity:

  • Checking theatre-goers' vaccination status

  • Enforcing the wearing of mask at all times in the building

  • Supplying plenty of hand sanitiser

  • Maintaining a reasonable distance between people based on the audience size.

And, last but not least, it means taking measures to sanitise the whole theatre before and after each event. To do so , with support from Department of Culture, Heritage & the Gaeltacht Cultural Capital Scheme, we have invested in 2 ozone generators that are deployed at the end of the day to eradicate completely any traces of viruses. As an added bonus it also gets rid of bacteria that might cause bad smells and ensures that the auditorium stays fresh as a daisy. Here is a quick illustration of how these work:

Effectively, following the government guidelines and these 2 ozone generators help us maintain a safe and sterile environment for our audience members. We will continue to monitor the situation and adapt new solutions as necessary in the future.

In the mean time, don't hesitate to drop us a line to ask us questions about coming to the theatre during the Covid crisis

You can also book a show, we have loads of fun, festive and Covid SAFE shows coming up until the end of the year (and even some early bookings after).
