Running since 2015, A Chance to Dance provides dance/movement based activities to individuals with additional needs.
A Chance to Dance emerged from the imagination of Frank Mc Namara and Maureen deForge as a barrier-free environment where youth, regardless of abilities, can participate in the art of dance. Honestly, if you were to ask me to sum up the Summer Camp in a few lines, well I simply couldn't do that!.
We welcome children from the age of 8 and with no upper age limit. And that's because we have returnee’s who are the pillars of this camp year upon year.
Ever get that warm fuzzy feeling from doing something that’s good? This camp comes with that in abundance….smiles, jumps, giggles and performance – Beyonce eat your heart out!
With A Chance to Dance we have 2 main goals:
Keep the cost down to parents and tie in with funders and grants.
Get qualified professional staff to teach dance, co- ordination, co -operation, those not only qualified in their fields but also with the intuition and fast paced thinking to read a situation, diffuse a situation and anticipate further occurrence or stimulants.
Thanks to the support of Birr Lyons Club, Birr Stage Guild and our selection of teachers, we achive both of these goals!
So, get the word out there about A Chance to Dance.....the proof of the pudding is in the tasting and to have returnees year upon year, well.....tick tick tick! We have looked, we have learned and akin to parenthood, A Chance To Dance Summer Camp has grown and matured into the fun creative and loving space that cares and gives care to each and every person that comes through our doors. A Chance to Dance will run from Monday 18 to Friday 22 July 10 am - 1pm with a registration fee / €20. Spaces are limited but please do get in touch so we can place you on a list and keep you up to date for next year!
