We endeavour to support a wide range of visual art media and host regular shows from artists based locally, nationally and internationally.
We are always on the look-out for innovative, distinctive and inspiring work to share with our local patrons.
Each show is the result of a thoughtful curation process either through invited projects, partnership with other organisations, and those selected or developed from our open submissions.


We are inviting artists to apply for
our 2026 Season of Solo Exhibitions

Today we start our 2026 Open Call for Solo Exhibitions.
We are inviting proposals for 6-week exhibitions from professional artists working across all contemporary visual art forms. Proposals should demonstrate the vision of the artist, how their practice evolves and how they stay true to themselves and relevant to their place in our world.
The selected artists will receive installation guidance in preparing the exhibition as well as full marketing and communication support before, during and immediately after the exhibition. 
The exhibition takes place in the theatre foyer and a virtual gallery will be available on the Birr Theatre & Arts Centre’s website. This is an opportunity for an artist to show their work in an intimate space supported by a vibrant, local art loving community. You can see the space in the last pages of the open call.
