IAN KEAVNEY

Jan - Mid Feb
The Deamons of the City Opened their Way to me
English artist now living in Tullamore, Ian Keavney graduated from Winchester School of Art in 1991 with a BA Hons Fine Art Painting/ Printmaking. Ian says visual work does not need the mediation of description to validate it, it works or it doesn’t. He paints, and continues to paint in the face of a world gone mad in search of novelty. Ian has recently exhibited in group shows in Áras an Chontae, Tullamore, Tin Jug Studio and during Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival. This is Ian’s first solo show.

PAUL WOODS

Mid Feb - Mar
The Fallen
Dundalk artist, Paul Woods, graduated from Limerick College of Arts & Design with a BA Hons in Fine Art Painting. This is Paul’s fourth show having previously exhibited in Belfast, Stranbane and Dundalk. Paul continues his work in the field of fine art painting. Paul has had solo shows in the past including a selection of portraits in a New York restaurant and will be exhibiting in Poland in September 2010. The subject matter of his work is both a subjective and objective response to the visual, aesthetic and phenomenon of warfare. The Fallen is concerned with the depiction of the statistical figures of seventeen combating nations’ military causalities in World War I. Each artwork will represent in dimension the scale of the casualty figures suffered by each nation and each painting will use the colour scheme of each countries national flag at the time of hostilities.
