Birr Theatre & Arts Centre has recently called for submissions from artists living in the Midlands to submit works for this forthcoming exhibition. The chosen medium this year is collage. Common Ground refers to a group of artists coming together to exhibit and this professionally curated exhibition will showcase the exceptional talent and diversity of Visual Artists in the Midlands today. Artists on Architecture

As part of Offaly County Council’s Engage with Architecture Programme 2013, this exhibition curated by Oonagh Young, featuring a selection of artists locally and nationally, highlights the interaction between art and architecture and depicts the artist’s interpretation of the built world. The exhibition reveals another visual understanding of architecture and aims to broaden public engagement and discussion with the Offaly Engage with Architecture programme.

St Brendan’s Birr Community School - Student Art Exhibition

Birr Theatre & Arts Centre is delighted to welcome back the young talent at Birr Community School for their annual exhibition. This is a huge opportunity for young artists of the future to experience the exhibition process. The exhibition officially opens on Wednesday 10 April, 7pm and will run until 17 May. All welcome!
Anam Beo
May – June
Anam Beo is an independent arts and health organisation that delivers the Offaly Arts-in-Health Programme, supported by the HSE Dublin Mid-Leinster and Offaly County Council since 2005. This exhibition showcases a variety of work including paintings on canvas, model making, mixed media and drawing created by talented participants at Birr Community Nursing Unit. These are non-judgemental process based and participant led workshops for day care and long term residents of Birr Community Nursing Unit facilitated by Birr artist Jackie Lynch. Anam Beo runs in conjunction with Bealtaine Festival. The exhibition will be launched on Wednesday 22 May, 4pm and will run until 28 June. Official launch 22 May 3pm All welcome.
